The latest nonsense term in the cable world is HDMI 2.0 Cable, don’t get duped with the marketing nonsense though, HDMI Cables haven’t changed since the ethernet pair was added and there is certainly no such thing as HDMI 2.0 Cables.
In the early days of HDMI, cables were referred to by the HDMI specification number but things changed when we got to HDMI 1.4. At this point cables became one of 4 main types, High Speed, High Speed with Ethernet, Standard Speed and Standard Speed with Ethernet. The terms HDMI 1.4 Cable and HDMI 2.0 Cable are irrelevant, misleading marketing terms which mean nothing.
ALL High Speed with Ethernet HDMI Cables support the equipment functions and data rates of HDMI 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 so don’t be duped into thinking you are getting anything different or better.
Another meaningless term starting to appear is Nitrogen Gas Injected, avoid cables and companies marketing with this nonsense.
